Vacations
How do you feel about traveling? I remember how I felt: anxious. Maybe you have felt the same way. Maybe you think of the same anxieties I use to think about, sitting in a plane or car all day, eating out at restaurants, or what you might wear. Maybe you have anxiety around flying or where you are going and your eating disorder just seems to get louder, even if you are excited about the trip. Here are some helpful tips to calm that anxiety and enjoy your vacation.
Peanut Butter and Flies
I remember when I was in elementary school and a boy at my school convinced me that there were flies in the peanut butter of my sandwich that I was about to eat. He worked at it for days, got other kids to tell me the same thing, and sitting in that elementary school cafeteria I became scared to eat that peanut butter. Not because I was scared of the energy content or what would happen to my body after I ate it, but because I was scared that there were flies.
Summer Snowball Fights
Every summer while growing up my sister and I would run around the acre of land that we grew up on in Lakewood, Colorado. We would play with the goats, pick berries off the branches, eat not-quite-ripe tomatoes, and climb through a forest of trees until our mama would walk out of the house and call us in for dinner.
